INNOVATION PROCESS MANAGEMENT™

OBJECTIVES

To profit and prosper an organization must promote innovation.  The objective of Innovation Process Management is to teach people how to lead, facilitate, and promote an orderly way of generating ideas that bring about change.  It’s important because it is innovation that will provide the competitive advantage a company needs in today’s economy.

Systems Theory

In this unit, participants learn the difference between changes of relative high importance and those of relative low importance. They study a model for discovering new business opportunities and complete exercises to select an Action Research Project, which will be used throughout the course.

Psychology of Habits and Attitudes

This segment illustrates characteristics of a creative person, emphasizes generally acceptable motivational practices, and identifies common behaviors that either increase or decrease the probability of success.

 

Techniques of Group Process

This unit emphasizes the interactive skills required to reach truly creative results including division of labor, developmental thinking, and Task vs. Relationship behavior.

Creative Thinking Methodology

Participants learn the importance of looking at problems from different points of view, using a child’s curiosity, switching off logic, and fantasizing.

Project Management

In this section, participants learn to move from developmental thinking to decision-making thinking.  They will examine six phases of project management and plan the implementation of their respective Action Research Projects.

DURATION

The workshop is designed to last from two to five days.  The course content depends upon the specific objectives of the organization.  It is also recommended that the participants' managers or someone designated by management attend a coaching course to assist the students after training.
